Baneling Cake

This was a bit of a last minute decision to create this cake. It is for the gaming company Blizzard Entertainment, they run a Blizzard Dessert contest each year and I decided to create a Baneling from their game Starcraft 2.

He is entirely created and sculpted out of Chocolate Mud cake and filled and covered in a green chocolate ganache, then covered in a thin layer of fondant and hand textured and airbrushed with food colours.

Princess Pillow!

I had an order this week for one of my previous designs, and it was so great to be able to redo it and change a few things and do certain techniques that I had not learnt when I created it the first time around.
This time I was able to add custom handmade buttons, a better stitching effect, a fondant material board and pearled the cake!
As much as I love new designs this was so fun and rewarding to be able to do a even better job this time!

Rollercoaster Cake!!

This cake was created based on the simple idea of "Rollercoaster"
Awesome!
So I decided to design the cake with a madhatter style 1 tier slope with some cute figurines and an exploding star!

Black, White and Silver Button Wedding Cake

I absolutely loved making this wedding cake! I love the style and elegance it has to it with the different sized tiers and individual edible buttons.
This design was chosen by the couple which is original a SweetandSaucy design.

As they were only needing to serve 50 people the bottom tier is the only cake tier and the two top tiers are foam "dummy" tiers.
The cake was almond and praline layered and covered in a milk chocolate ganache.

Each of the buttons I created a mold for and then pressed out of fondant and hand painted.
The cake is then completed with a sugar handmade peony flower.

The Cake on display at its Venue, Quay Restaurant.

Gold and Purple Cupcake Tower

My first ever cupcake tower!
This was for an engagement party and has 130 cupcakes in total and a 7" Round Cutting cake. Half the cupcakes were Chocolate mud with a dark Chocolate ganache and the other half were almond/praline with white chocolate ganache.
Got to try out some fun new things on this job, my new airbrush got christened with gold edible paint along with the rest of the kitchen...
I am now a Satin Ice fondant user, no going to back to the old stuff!

Tinkerbell Birthday

A Tinkerbell birthday cake!
The summer heat is not being much fun to work in at the moment, humidity is not my cakes friend.
